Optimus 6010R is a 100% solids, advanced technology of diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A resin reacted with a modified multiple ring cycloaliphatic amine adduct activator, advanced curing agent system. The resulting polymer structure is high strength, very adhesive, fast set, moisture tolerant, extremely tough with superior chemical resistance to corrosive waters and acids. This is a versatile multi-use product. 6010R is a very quick setting, rapid reacting polymer system designed for cool condition applications on airfield, slab-on-grade floors, secondary containment prime coats, etc.
Airfield Grout: As a grout the 6010R meets the FAA-P606 requirements for bonding in-pavement airfield light fixture bases into concrete pavement, kerfs, docking systems for taxi ways and landing zones. The product is also used for rapid repair in damp conditions on exterior concrete slabs, airfields, etc. or on interior floor applications where the concrete surfaces have been damaged and aggregate is exposed.
Primer: 6010R is used on cleaned surfaces for bridge joint applications prior to the application of Madison polyurea joint products. 6010R is part of the product system for fast set spray polyurea materials where substrate conditions require a low viscosity penetrating 100% solids moisture tolerant primer that is fast set. The 6010R is an excellent primer for the Madison Nova Bar barrier protective coating systems.
This product coating is designed to provide penetration, wetting and sealing of substrates and surfaces as a fast set, high quality primer and cross link to various polyurea and urethane top coats when properly and timely applied. Cured film conforms to USDA requirements for coatings in incidental contact with food.

Preparation: Concrete must have a minimum 28 day cure prior to application. Remove any curing agent, form release materials, oils, wax, moisture or any material that may effect bonding. *Perform a Moisture Vapor Test before making the coating application on concrete. Clean by abrasive “brush-off” blast. Provide rough profile minimum 2 mils. Review ASTM D4259 Abrading Concrete and ASTM F1869 Measuring Moisture Vapor Emission. Moisture Vapor Reduction: 6010R (as a coating) should be applied to concrete surfaces as part of a "systems approach" when used as a primer for various epoxy or polyurea floor coatings. Use 6010R with CMW moisture vapor reduction product 24 to 48 hours before the 6010R primer application. Consideration should be given to the rise and fall of temperatures during applications, i.e., some applications produce better results when the product is applied after peak temperatures and the temperature is falling.
Priming: 6010R is applied several hours before a top coat application. It is best to apply a suitable top coat as soon as the 6010R has set and will allow access for additional coating applications. Top coat application window 1 to 4 hours. Avoid heavy mil thickness of primer, maintain mil profile with primer. Concrete: Primer for concrete and masonry Must penetrate and wet the surface thoroughly. Priming concrete may require 3 to 5 mils depending on the porosity of the concrete.
Mixing: Jiffy mixer - 650 rpm drill motor to mix product. Mix until a uniform blend of the two part is evident after adding part B into part A. Do not change the proportions. Mix completely for approximately one to two minutes. Power stir - continue agitation during the applications. Avoid mixing air into the blend. Mix part B before use to assure pigment is in suspension. Mix at 2:1 ratio. 6010R is fast set and must not be left in the mixing bucket or it will set very fast. After the product is mixed, pour out and squeegee quickly then back roll to desired primer thickness.
Joint Application Primer: Small amounts of product are mixed, mix only what can be used in a short time. Work into the surface to be primed. Polyurea joint product can be applied right after priming.
Grout: Pre-measure aggregates for grout mixes. Grout blends; 1 part mixed product to 2 – 2.5 parts selected aggregate for pour-ability. Pressure pad grouts use high aggregate content, ratio is dependent on the aggregate use. Observe product and aggregate temperature and environmental temperature. Hot or warm conditions 6010R will set very quickly in volume – several minutes. Mix and pour immediately in warm conditions.
Temperature Range: 40°F to 90°F (air and surface) and 5°F above dew point. For warmer application temperatures use 6010S medium set, slower version for warmer conditions.
Brush/Roller: Use short hair natural bristle. Roller 3/8 inch nap synthetic.
Airless: Graco or equal. Pump ration 30:1 or higher, 206-718 gun with fluid tip of .021 or larger orifice size with a Reverse-A-Clean tip, 3/8 I.D. or larger high pressure solvent resistant fluid line, ½ inch I.D. or larger air supply line. Continuous air source capable of 80 to 100 psi inbound pressure at pump.
Conventional spray: Binks or equal. Pressure material pot with mechanical agitator, dual regulators, air gauges, oil and moisture separators. No. 18 gun (external mix), 67 fluid nozzle, 65 fluid needle, 67 PB air cap, heavy duty fluid spring, Teflon fluid packing, ½ inch I.D. or larger high solvent resistant fluid line and 3/8 inch I.D. or larger air supply line.
Continuous air source capable of 20 cfm or more at 80 psi per nozzle and 60 psi to the pot.
Thinning: Not required.
Application: Apply mixed product in even coat and insure uniform mil thickness. Apply second coat in opposite direction to assure coverage of pin holes.
Mil Thickness: Primer application mil thickness is predicated on the substrate surface porosity and profile. Over shot blasted slab surface a 2 mil profile, see preparation statement this data sheet.
Reapply: Topcoat 1 to 4 Hours or as soon as the product has set and is becoming tack free. Full cure 24 to 48 hours @ 70ºF. Accelerate cure by using heaters or increase environmental temperature for faster cure. Recoating/repair; If the primer has reached complete cure and hardness, or if subjected to extended exposure to sunlight, uniformly abrade the surface and feather the edges. The surface must be roughen sufficiently to provide a profile adequate to insure a mechanical bond.
Curing times: Heat curing may be used to increase drying speed and resistant properties. Curing times are significantly shorter for higher temperatures or lower thickness and longer for lower temperatures or higher thickness. Times are affected by method of application, the quantity of thinner used, the amount of ventilation and air circulation and relative humidity, etc.
Inspection: Check for desired dry film thickness and for pinholes, holidays, bare areas, etc. before placing additional coats or top coats over primer.
Packaging: Three gallon and fifteen gallon kits and drum kits

Note: Test the product on the area to be coated before making an application.
Limitations:
The product may set faster in hot conditions and slower in cold conditions. Keep out of direct sunlight and store the product kits on wood pallets at room temperature.
*Applicator shall wear protective clothing, goggles and NIOSH cartridge mask when spraying this product, use positive air supply for confined spaces as required.

2. Mixing
Pre-mix Part B before use to ensure all settled pigments are fully suspended.
Combine Part B into Part A at a strict 2:1 ratio by volume.
Mix for 1 to 2 minutes using a Jiffy mixer attached to a 650 rpm drill motor until a uniform blend is achieved.
Avoid whipping or mixing excessive air into the blend.
Do not leave the mixed product in the bucket; pour it onto the floor immediately to prevent it from kicking off and hardening instantly.
3. Application
For Priming/Coating: Pour the mixed material out, squeegee it quickly across the surface, and back-roll with a 3/8-inch synthetic nap roller to a thickness of 3 to 5 mils. Apply a second coat in the opposite direction to seal pinholes.
For Grout Applications: Pre-mix 1 part of the blended epoxy with 2 to 2.5 parts of a selected clean aggregate. Pour and work into airfield light fixture bases or damaged concrete cavities immediately.
For Joint Priming: Mix only small, manageable amounts at a time. Brush the product thoroughly into the joint walls. Polyurea joint sealants can be applied right after priming.
4. Recoat & Curing
Apply topcoats within a 1 to 4-hour window as soon as the primer has set and can accept foot traffic.
If the primer reaches complete cure and hardness (past 4 hours), uniformly abrade/sand the surface to re-establish a mechanical profile before topcoating.
Allow 24 to 48 hours at 70°F for a full cure.

Nova Bar 6020 is a 100% solids, advanced technology of diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A resin reacted with a modified multiple ring cycloaliphatic amine adduct activator. The resulting polymer structure is extremely tough with very good chemical resistance to corrosive waters and various other chemicals. Nova Bar 6020 is resistant to amine blush and water spotting with convenient pre-measured kits, 2:1 ratio and overnight cure. 6020 is an attractive epoxy floor coating designed to provide penetration, wetting and sealing of substrates and surfaces for improved appearance and protection. It is formulated to be hard, durable, impact and abrasion resistant. The primary use of this 2:1 ratio product system is for industrial floor coatings, industrial work areas, shops, show room floors, commercial floors and forklift traffic work areas.

Remove all existing coatings completely by dry grinding or abrasive blasting.
Abrasive "brush-off" blast the concrete to provide a rough profile of 2 to 3 mils.
Perform a Moisture Vapor Test prior to application.
Seal and repair all cracks, voids, and bug-holes, and apply an approved primer over the repairs.
Ensure the concrete surface is fully treated, primed, and possesses a pH level between 7.0 and 8.5.
2. Mixing
Combine Part B into Part A at a pre-measured 2:1 ratio.
Mix thoroughly for 1 to 2 minutes using a Jiffy mixer until a completely uniform color and blend are visible.
If thinning is necessary for application, use Xylene very sparingly and test a small area first.
3. Application
Ensure air and surface temperatures are within the allowable 35 °F to 125 °F range.
Apply the mixed epoxy evenly over the primed surface using a roller to ensure deep wetting and sealing.
Maintain an even coat to establish a durable, impact-resistant finish.
Allow the system to achieve an overnight cure before allowing traffic.
NBPC 6100 is 1:1 plural component, 100% solids multifunctional novolac resin system specifically designed to protect containment holding tanks, delivery systems, containment walls, floors and equipment.
NBPC 6100 has high resistance to acids, alkalis and salts. This product can be used in areas where a non-sag product is required. NBPC 6100 is highly adhesive, abrasion resistant, has high heat deflection with added structural polymer reinforcement. Thick film heavy duty novolac lining will cure at ambient temperatures conditions to provide exceptional structural strength and corrosion protection for surfaces at elevated temperatures in severe chemical and physical environments. It is formulated to be extremely adhesive.

Moisture Vapor Reduction: NBPC 6100 should be applied to concrete surfaces as part of a "systems approach". Since concrete will out-gas causing pinholes, using the CMW vapor barrier treatment for the concrete and the Optimus 7010 as the primer, pinholes are reduced.
Primer: To assure good substrate penetration into the substrate use a thin coat or mist coat of NBPC 6100 prior to regular application coats to reduce the potential of pinholing then proceed with full coat application.
Mixing: Jiffy mixer - 650 rpm drill motor to mix product. *This is a very thick product that is very low sag. Use equipment that will allow proper mixing without “spinning” the mixing containers while being mixed. Mix at sufficient speed to thoroughly combine part A and B. Mix until a uniform blend of the two part is evident after adding part B into part A. Do not change the proportions. Mix completely for approximately one to two minutes. Power stir - continue agitation during the applications. Avoid mixing air into the blend. Mix part B before use to assure pigment is in suspension. Mix at 1:1 ratio.

Aggregate; When using a "broadcast to refusal" aggregate always use a high quality aggregate with low dust.
Mil Thickness; Application mil thickness is predicated on the environment and potential contact to harsh chemicals, temperature and length of time of contact.
Use not less than 20 mils dry film thickness. Depending on the application 20 mils or greater may be required, the product may be applied up to 60 mils in one coat with little or no sag or thinner. Reapply; Time between coats is 2 to 8 hours. Cure 24 hours before opening to immersion or traffic. Accelerate cure by using heaters or increase environmental temperature for faster cure. Recoating/repair; If material has reached complete cure and hardness, or if subjected to extended exposure to sunlight, uniformly abrade the surface and feather the edges. The surface must be roughen sufficiently to provide a profile adequate to insure a mechanical bond.
Inspection; Check for desired dry film thickness and for pinholes, holidays, bare areas, etc. before placing into operation/service. Use 2500 volt spark detector for thick film laminates on conductive substrates.
Application Methods: Hand Lay-up Method; Use two layers of polyester felt or glass mat or other suitable fiber reinforcement. Adjoining layers must overlap by at least 3 inches. Apply a heavy coat of NBPC 6100 at a rate of 30 square feet per gallon by roller or spray. Lay section of fiber reinforcement into wet coating and work in thoroughly with ribbed metal roller to fully wet the fiber reinforcement and remove air bubbles. Minimum film thickness should be 50 mils (.050) Apply a top coat by spray or roller to a minimum film thickness of 10 mils. Total minimum dry film thickness for the complete laminate system is 60 mils. Insure all seams and irregularities are completely covered.
Applicator shall wear protective clothing, goggles and NIOSH cartridge mask. Use positive air supply for confined spaces as required.

1. Substrate Preparation
Concrete Substrates: Blast to a minimum 2-mil profile, clean to maintain a pH between 8.0 and 11.0, and perform a Moisture Vapor Test. Treat with CMW vapor barrier and Optimus 7010 primer to mitigate pinholes.
Steel Substrates: Sandblast to a near-white finish matching SSPC-SP10/NACE 2 standards with a minimum 2-mil anchor profile. Grind all welds, seams, and sharp edges smooth before blasting.
Repair all bug-holes, cracks, and surface imperfections prior to coating.
2. Mixing
Always mix the individual Part B container thoroughly before combining, especially when working with large 10-gallon kits.
Combine Part A and Part B at an exact 1:1 ratio.
Use a Jiffy mixer on a 650 rpm drill motor. Because this is a thick, low-sag product, secure the container tightly so it does not spin during mixing.
Mix for 1 to 2 minutes until uniform, and keep the material agitated throughout the application.
If thinning is required for spray setups, thin with MEK at a maximum of 15% (verify local VOC laws first).
3. Application
Standard Roll/Spray Method: Apply a thin mist coat of NBPC 6100 first to satisfy substrate porosity and stop pinholing, then proceed with full coats.
Roller/Brush: Apply using a short-nap 3/8-inch synthetic roller or a short hair natural bristle brush in even, wet coats.
Airless Spray: Use a 30:1 or higher pump ratio, a 206-718 gun with a .019 or larger orifice Reverse-A-Clean tip, and a minimum 3/8-inch fluid line.
Layering: Apply at a minimum thickness of 20 mils per coat (can be applied up to 60 mils in one coat without sagging). Always apply the second coat in the opposite direction.
Hand Lay-up Method (Fiber Reinforced): Apply a heavy base coat of material at 30 sq ft/gallon. Lay fiberglass mat/felt into the wet coating, overlapping joints by 3 inches. Roll out with a ribbed metal roller to fully wet the fabric and extract air bubbles (minimum 50 mils). Apply a 10-mil topcoat to reach a total system thickness of 60 mils.
4. Recoat & Curing
Maintain a window of 2 to 8 hours between consecutive coats.
Allow the completed application to cure for a minimum of 24 hours before opening the area to chemical immersion or heavy traffic.
If the material cures completely or sits in direct sunlight, aggressively abrade the surface and feather the edges to create a mechanical bond profile before adding more material.
For thick film laminates on conductive substrates, inspect the final cured film using a 2500-volt spark detector to check for pinholes or holidays.
6100 WC Nova Bar is a 100% solids, advanced technology of diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A resin reacted with a modified multifunctional polyamidoamine adduct activator. The resulting polymer structure is excellent for problematic coating areas that remain damp or wet. The 6100 will bond, cure and protect the concrete due to its high tolerance to wet conditions. To apply over existing material/coating: The existing coating must be abraded to produce a profile of a minimum of 3 mils. The application over existing materials is only as good as the existing material that is in place. Such materials should be well bonded and very secure to the substrate.
Top Coats over 6100 should be applied as soon as the 6100 has set enough to allow access to apply additional coatings. If the 6100 has set and become cured for 8 to 12, the surface may have to be abraded to add profile for bonding of a top coat.

1. Substrate Preparation
Clean the surface and perform an abrasive "brush-off" blast to establish a 2 to 3 mil profile.
Ensure the surface is free of standing pools of water, grease, oils, and old coatings. The surface may remain damp or wet, with a required concrete pH between 7.0 and 8.5.
Over Existing Coatings: Ensure the existing coating is securely bonded. Mechanically abrade it to create a deep profile of at least 3 mils.
Seal all bug-holes, cracks, and spalls, and prime all filled voids using an approved primer.
2. Mixing
Combine Component B into Component A at a 2:1 ratio by volume.
Mix completely for 1 to 2 minutes using a mechanical drill mixer until a uniform blend is achieved.
3. Application
Apply the mixed product within an environmental temperature range of 35 degrees F to 125 degrees F.
Roll or spray the mixture directly over the damp surface; the epoxy will displace moisture to bond and cure into a smooth, high-gloss film.
Ensure coverage is uniform across all seams and surface irregularities.
4. Recoat & Curing
Apply subsequent topcoats as soon as the 6100 WC layer has set firmly enough to support foot traffic.
Critical Window: If the product cures for 8 to 12 hours, it will develop a hard glaze. You must mechanically abrade the surface to create a profile before applying any topcoat.
Optimus 6200WR is a water extended epoxy with a special modified amine activator. The product is very color-fast with better color retention then other epoxy systems.
The product is a moisture tolerant epoxy, non-toxic and extremely durable with good chemical resistance. This product sets faster than other epoxies and reduces "down time" for the application providing quick turn-around time. 6200 is an easy to use, fast set industrial floor coating that can be clear or pigmented, rolled or sprayed and has little or no odor. 6200 is also a base coat product for the color chip system from Madison.
The 6200 is often used as a stand-alone product for simple floor coating applications, is excellent for warehouses, factories, clean-rooms and food related industries and is outstanding for ease of application and job clean-up. The product is light reflective adding a lighter appearance to a warehouse.
6200 has a quick set-up time making this product excellent for areas of high traffic and where next day usage is important. 6200 normally can be walked on in approximately 1 to 4 hours depending on the humidity and temperature of the surface coated.
Unique Characteristics: 6200 is a unique multifunctional system that has components to greatly reduce color shift normally associated with epoxy. 6200 has a long pot life of about 1 hour but a very fast set time when applied to a concrete surface. This product can be applied over a slightly damp concrete substrate as long as the area has time to fully dry out.

Preparation:

Moisture Vapor Reduction: 6200 should be applied to concrete surfaces as part of a "systems approach". Since concrete will out-gas causing pinholes, using the CMW vapor barrier treatment for the concrete and the 6200 as a primer, pinholes are reduced. Some conditions, such as extreme out-gassing, may require the application of the product when the temperature is going down – this is up to the applicator to determine what methods must be used per the environmental conditions.
Primer: Make a prime coat of 6200 using approximately 5% to 10% water to the mixed A & B. Use this as the prime coat. Allow about 45 minutes to 1 hour before the application of the base coat over the prime coat. The base coat does not have water added to it.
Floor Joints: Clean and fill all control joints and construction joints with Optimus 3020 or per the data sheet. All moving joints or joints with the potential for movement are usually honored and may or may not be coated over. In some cases, joints that are over-coated may produce a thin crack where the floor joint is. Expansion joints must be honored and not covered with a coating product.
Masonry: These substrates must be cured 28 days minimum. Surface must be dry and clean. Prime concrete and back roll to completely wet and thoroughly penetrate surface to insure that all irregularities are filled and sealed.
Existing Coatings: Remove existing coatings prior to primer application. Dry grind as needed to produce proper profile.
Application: Add Component A (activator) into Component B. Do not vary proportions. After A and B are completely mixed, the product may be applied. Apply the product using a short nap roller, brush or airless spray. When rolling, make the next coat of product application 90 degrees to the first to assure complete coverage of the surface.
Note: Once the rolling of the product has been done on the floor do not reach back into product that has begun to cure and attempt to re-roll or a color change will be produced.
Temperature Range: 45°F to 125°F (air and surface) and 5°F above dew point. Storage & shelf life - one year from shipment date protected between 40º F and 100º F. Temperature Resistance up to 250°F dry.
Coverage: The average mil thickness is 3-5 mils to 8 mils per coat, achieve a dry film thickness of approximately 8 to 10 mils, more film thickness may be added via additional coats of product as required by the application or installer. Application mil thickness is predicated on the environment and potential contact to harsh chemicals, temperature and length of time of contact. Do not apply thick coats or cure will greatly extended.
Pot Life: Approximately 1 hour @ 70º F (mixed two gallon kit).
Curing time: 1 to 4 hours @ 70º F. Full cure in 3 days @ 70º F.
Air circulation and/or heat curing may be used to increase drying speed. *Curing times are significantly shorter for higher temperatures or lower thickness and longer for lower temperatures or higher thickness. Times are affected by method of application, the amount of ventilation and air circulation and relative humidity.
Finish: Medium-High Gloss, texture will vary due to substrate.
Caution: Flattening and minor color change may occur with extended exposure to sunlight.
Inspection: Check for desired dry thickness and for pinholes, holidays, bare areas, etc. before placing into operation/service.

1. Substrate Preparation
Clean the concrete surface via abrasive blasting or mechanical grinding to achieve a minimum 2 mil profile.
Remove all pre-existing coatings prior to application.
The concrete substrate must be clean and free of bond-breakers. It may be slightly damp, provided the concrete has a path to dry out completely over time.
Clean and fill all control and construction joints with Optimus 3020. Do not coat over moving expansion joints.
2. Mixing
Combine Component A (activator) into Component B at an exact 1:1 ratio.
Mix completely until the two components are thoroughly blended.
Do not alter the mixing proportions.
3. Application
Prime Coat: Add 5% to 10% clean water to the mixed A and B batch. Apply this thinned mixture to the substrate, back-rolling thoroughly to wet and penetrate the masonry pores. Allow to dry for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Base Coat: Mix a fresh batch of Component A and Component B at a 1:1 ratio. Do not add water to this layer. Apply this unthinned base coat directly over the dried prime coat using a roller or spray.
Color Chips (Optional): If utilizing a decorative color-chip system, broadcast the chips directly into the unthinned base coat while it is still wet.
4. Recoat & Curing
Utilize the long 1 hour pot life to carefully lay down the material, but work steadily as it sets quickly once spread thin.
Expect the floor to accept light foot traffic within 1 to 4 hours, depending heavily on ambient humidity and temperature.
Allow the system to dry out fully before subjecting the surface to wet cleaning, steam, or heavy industrial traffic.
